Fraser Straits Marina Pty Ltd has offered to build and give the Tin Can Bay Yacht Club a new club house, twice the size of its existing one, free of charge.

It also has offered free of charge, a new private launching ramp within the yacht club area, as well as new dinghy launching facilities and the free replacement and upgrading of some other assets of the club.

They would be given in consideration of the TCBYC relocating to the northern end of the Fraser Straits Marina development.

At a special meeting of the Tin Can Bay Yacht Club in June 2005, members voted to accept the offer upon approval of the Fraser Straits Marina development proposal and subject to an acceptable contract being approved by the management committee.

The proponents also had presented an alternative plan to the club where it would remain in its present location, but with the benefit or addditional facilities being provided by Fraser Straits Marina.
