A
development application has been lodged with the Cooloola Shire
Council detailing plans to build a marina and related facilities
in the Snapper Creek State Boat Harbour at Norman Point, Tin Can
Bay.
The
harbour is owned by the State of Queensland and managed by Queensland
Transport.
The application is being made under the provisions of the Integrated
Planning Act and the Cooloola Shire's transitional planning scheme.
The application therefore also will trigger the involvement of
the Department of Main Roads, the Environmental Protection Agency,
Queensland Transport, Maritime Safety Queensland and other statutory
agencies in the assessment process.
During the course of evaluating the application, public and public
organisations, owners of neighboring properties and private individuals,
whether living in the immediate area or not, will have the opportunity
to state their viewpoints about the development.
This web site has been created to assist in providing that opportunity.
It provides an introduction to the Fraser Straits Marina proposal,
gives access to some of the application documentation and explains
how people can source additional information.
It also provides an access point for people to contact the proponents
directly, or to publicly put relevant questions about the development,
which in turn can be answered publicly.
This web site will be updated regularly - come back frequently
for the latest updates.
